Fost Plus : Quality check software for glass recycling bins

Description:

Fost Plus is a Belgian organisation that governs everything that has to do with packaging and recycling. They needed web-based software for a subcontractor to be able to perform quality checks on glass recycling bins. This software runs in the browser of a PDA that is also used to take pictures. Using the EXIF data of these pictures, they are matched to the observations made. This greatly simplifies and improves the automation of reporting the results of these quality checks. The Google Maps API is used to assist planning of the quality checks, so that obervers don't lose unnecessary time and mileage driving around. To this purpose all 8000+ glass recycling containers are geo-located.

One of Belgiums largest energy producers, Luminus - SPE, is looking for new employees. Since most people don't really have an idea what it's like to work for an energy producer, they concieved the idea of a testimonial site. A webdesign company got the job of performing graphic art for this web site, but for the navigation they wanted something special. That's where my experience with flash came into play. As you can see on the menu-item "Getuigenissen" (or "Témoignages" in French) The circular navigation is entirely built in Flash.

Solar panel placement module - Ecostream

Description:

Nowadays, conciousness regarding our energy is important. Many people are moving towards alternative ways to generate their heat and electricity. One of these alternative ways is through solar panels. The international company Ecostream, active in Western Europe and the U.S., produces and installs solar panels just about anywhere. For home owners they required a flash module on their website in which customers can define the roofs of their houses and then drag solar panels and other objects onto them. The gathered information is saved in a database and can be consulted by both Ecostream staff and the customer at any time. This rich internet application is completely database driven and yet one more fine example of what magic Flash and PHP can do when hooked up.

Formula 1 prediction site

Description:

For the dutch fan-page of the Formula 1 driver Kimi Raïkkönen, I was asked to produce a a backend for a website which allows visitors to make predictions for the weekly F1 races this season. This job involved a member system with login, member controlpanel, and a password protected administrator CMS. In this CMS, drivers, members and races can be added, altered or deleted; the administrator can enter the results of the last race. The scores for each member are calculated automatically based upon his/her predictions. A highscore table is also one of the features.
